Something Old and Something New

The ACW collection continues. These are the 110th Pennsylvania and complete the number of units for the 3rd Brigade, 1st Division, III Corps of Army of the Potomac at Gettysburg.

I've given up on saying I've finished them. I've decided that ACW will be my fall back collection. I have enough to complete what I wanted to do but I think I'm addicted to them. I.e. I won't actively purchase them any more but I will be on the look out for bargains and will buy them.

I've been searching for a new project, I have a lot of completed armies but there is always that hunger. Matt over at the Wargames in the Dungeon Blog has begun a new project. 7 Years War in 10mm using the Pendraken range. Quite like painting 10mm, you have to get your eye in and think differently. So I decided to dip my toe in the water and build a Brunswicker force. The Kronoskaf web page has a truly wondrous  resource and I've been using this a lot. The idea came from the Battleground show where the Stafford Wargames Society put on a brilliant 7YW game in 10mm with 1 regiment per base. I regiment = 1 pack of figures from Pendraken. It looked fantastic and at £5 per regiment a pretty cheap way of building a massive force.
So I started them last night and finished my 1st Brunswicker regiment, the Leib Regiment

Split them into 2 bases, 1 battalion each

They look pretty good, if I say so myself (which I did)

I hand painted the flags, I actually made one out of a white sticky label, and stuck it to a musketeer. It enables me match the flags to the regiment properly, apart from the obvious lack for free hand painting ability.
Overall I can see this being a big project, already order the missing units to complete the Brunswickers - the whole army will have cost me £55 and think I will expand with some opponents - may be the Hungarians or the Holy Roman Empire
