A closer inspection of yesterday's figs

After the discovery yesterday that the Sci Fi chick on a jet bike was an original Citadel Rogue trader figure worth about £15-20 (thanks +Mike Ellson) I thought I'd post some close ups of some of the more interesting figures to see if anyone recognizes them. Most of the figs appear to be Ral Partha or similar but these are the best quality and most interesting figs. I'll put them on the Lead Adventures Forum eventally but I thought I'd give you all 1st dibs.
Don't intend to sell them but it would be nice to know more about them

The rogue trader fig that started it all off

This is a very large Balrog or similar with bat wings and a flaming sword

Naked witch with apron and huge boobs

Space trooper

Classical good wizard with pointy hat and white beard - think skinny Santa

Classic evil wizard with bald head

This guy/dwarf/goblin/? has 3 arms - surely a chaos type

Female wizard, lots of leg and boobage

Classical female barbarian, barely dressed in impractical armour

Space trooper

Superhero type - this is actually quite a neat paint job if a little Blaxploitation

Another superhero type

2 x 15mm squat trikes - these are actually very nice figs

Finally a tracked robot with claw and shotgun?

I've spent an enjoyable few hours looking these fig up with little joy, apart from the Ral Partha stuff. Hope they make you feel all nostalgic and prick those memories.
Back to work tomorrow after a month off and I'm much more relaxed and prepared for the next term. I've learnt 2 main things; When I retire I will not be bored and I can't afford to retire yet (if ever)

I must stop going to the Flea Market

I went to Tynemouth market this morning, where I bought the British Napoleonics 2 weeks ago. No new Naps but I did buy this 1kg bag for £20

It contained loads of retro figures, mainly Mimnfigs I think

25-28mm ancients, sci fi and fantasy

Wizards

Really cool Scifi chick on a jet bike

Mainly scifi vehicles but a large Balrog and a really cool Africa Statue

13 ACW figs

Hobbits, Skels and a Scifi trike

10 - 15mm figs and weapons

1:300 modern british tank army (I think). Never had a tank army before. Another new army.

I'm really quite pleased with these. Very retro and castings are not really great but there are lots of figs and some of them are really great.

Tomb of Rameses

The raid on Abu Qurqas by the Brotherhood had given them the map to the secret Tomb of Rameses, the hero of Kadesh. Caernavon, Carter and 3 of the Brothers raced to the tomb and stood at it imposing entrance

As the advanced into the tomb they were immediately confronted by a mummified priest. Carter fires his pistol  but missed and Douglas advances and attacks with his club and flaming torch. Douglas sets the mummy on fire but the mummy knocks him out. Henry steps forward and trades blows with the mummy before smashing it to the ground with his club.

Carter searches the chamber and finds a chest containing the Spear of Osiris, the only thing that can kill the resurrected Rameses.
Douglas is revived and the party advances into a room with 2 statues of Royal Guards. The ground shakes and the 2 statues leap to forwards. They attack. Douglas quickly drops his attacker but Henry is KO'd. Carter fires his pistol and misses. Thomas steps over Henry and attacks the guard. They trade blows and Thomas kills the guard.

Further into the tomb the party stumbles a horde of skeletons. Doug is knocked down and Thomas and Carter draw their fights. Caernavon reaches over Doug and pushes the Skeleton back before he can kill Doug. Thomas kills his skel but Carter is getting nowhere against his. Douglas gets up. The fight continues furiously and Doug and Thomas eventually kill their skels.

They advance and Thomas is knocked down. Carter kills his skeleton but Douglas is stabbed through the heart by his opponent and drops to the ground dead..

The brotherhood finish the last skeletons and Henry picks up Douglas' torch. They advance into the chamber of Sobek the Crocodile God and are faced by a 12 ft Nile Crocodile. Thomas and Henry run to either side and Carter opens fire with his pistol but misses. The croc turns to face Thomas but he stabs it in the mouth. Henry attacks the croc from behind but with a lash of it's tail it knocks him to the ground. Caernavon attacks to no effect and Henry gets up and tries again but misses. Thomas attacks again and stabs the crocodile in the eye killing it.
Carter searches the room and finds a chest with 2 glass spheres in it filled with a green liquid.

They advance into the next chamber and Henry hears a click under his feet. He looks down in horror as spikes shot up through the floor and pierce his foot. Henry is alive but is going nowhere. While Caernavon and Thomas tend to Henry, Carter searches the room and find as chest filled with a fortune in gems. Carter stuffs his pockets, this will free him from his debts and allow him to get away from Caernavon and the brotherhood

The next chamber holds a chest and Carter finds the Amulet of the Dead which Caernavon will use to resurrect Rameses. He gives it to Caernavon but keeps the Spear of Osiris to himself.
The remaining 3 advance to the east and enter the next chamber where without warning the roof collapses on Caernavon and Thomas. They dive out of the way and get up covered in dust but unharmed.

Moving downstairs then enter a split level chamber. At the bottom of the stairs a cloud of acrid gas rises from the floor. Carter looks to the left and sees a barrel filled with milky liquid. He kicks it over and it flows towards the gas. The 2 mix with a fizzing and the cloud dissipates. Caernavon nods towards Carter, glad to have brought the archaeologist along.

They advance through a series of narrow passageways when in the distance they see a mummy (no pictures). Carter throws one of the globes at the mummy and misses. It strikes the back wall and explodes into a ball of flame. The mummy attacks Thomas who beats it back. Carter throws the last globe and it hits the mummy, engulfing it in flame and singeing Thomas' beard.
Moving forward the ground starts to move and shimmer. A swarm of scarab beetles emerges and moves towards Thomas. He jumps out of the way and they run back up the passage

Caernavon turns left and enters a chamber where he runs into mummy.

The mummy smashes him to the ground and as he attempts to rise he is engulfed by the swarm of scarabs, writhing and screaming as they devour his flesh.

Further up the passage Thomas yells to Carter "Stop! We must go back.
"Are you Mad?" Caernavon is dead and there is nothing we can do"
"We can't fail the Brotherhood. Rameses must rise."
Carter turns to Thomas and shoots him in the stomach.

Carter flees the tomb. Hidden in the rubble of the collapsed roof Henry watches Carter kill Thomas. He begins to crawl out, knowing that he must get back and tell the Brotherhood of Caernavon's failure in the penultimate chamber and treachery of Carter.
The Brotherhood will return.
This was played with my Hack rules (I will post them eventually) and was great fun

Egyptian Adventure

So I've had a busy month off, back to work on Monday. I feel suitably refreshed and have done quite a lot of things, saw the new Star Trek movie yesterday and it's great. I've done little gaming and not posted a lot, despite this I've hit over 2000 hits this month, thanks to lots of simultaneous hits from Russia, I suspect mechanical men. I'm still counting them.
I've finished the Hack rules and will post them shortly but over the last few days I've been assembling the Pyramid floor plan I bought from RGPDrivethru at the suggestion of Michael Awdry. I cut them out (1 evening) and glued them to 3 mount boards that I picked up cheaply

Cutting them out took 2 more evenings and lots of Stanley knife blades. They look great but a little flat. So I decided to add some 3D terrain

Resin statues I picked up at Partizan

Scratch built stone guard statues

Pillars made from plastic pipe with some Skels for company

The layout of the Pyramid - need to print off some more of the smaller sections

Our heroes

Sarcophagus

A mummy - obviously

The bad guys

Finally no Egyptian pyramid is complete without swarms of Scarab Beetles. I didn't have any but I had an idea

Arborio rice glued to round mdf bases

Painted a blend of military green and silver and then washed with black ink

Next job is to fight the encounter, may use the Hack rules or IHMN

Couple of Random Figs and lots of cutting out

It's been a stormy day here and I've spent the last couple of hours cutting out floor plans for an Egyptian pyramid, bought from Drive Thru RPG at the suggestion of Michael Awdry. Very nice and only a couple of bucks in the sale. A trip to the art shop today and I bought some mounting boards in the sale at only a couple of quid each. So I've spent the last couple of hours cutting them out whilst watching the BBC original of "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy" with every decent British actor from the 1970' and 80' - great stuff. Will post them tomorrow or Saturday once the glue has set and I've cut them out.
Beautifully hot yesterday and as I was waiting for it to get cool enough to go to bed I painted a couple of figures, my first Landsknecht and a ninja. The former is OK but I'm really pleased with the ninja, the tricky blak shading and highlighting has worked beautifully.

Right back to George Smiley and glueing
